Using a Lock Box
We would like to attach a lock box at your property. A lock box is a box that stores the entry key to your property. It is an electronic/mechanical device that is opened with special electronic keys.
The keys are registered to individual Realtors or property appraisers affiliated with the Victoria Real Estate Board. Each key requires the use of a registered and confidential personal identification number, and if a key is lost or stolen, it can be rendered inactive remotely.
A lock box will record which registered users code has been used to open them. In this way the name, the date, the time, the brokerage and phone number of the key owner is always captured. Using a lock box enables Realtors to show listed properties quickly and easily. Furthermore, because a lock box records the identity of the registered user, we have an audit trail, and a powerful tool to search out buyers comments and feedback.
The lock box is made of reinforced steel and is designed with security in mind. It must be noted however, that it is not a security system. A lock box, like any electronic/mechanical device, is not immune to the determined efforts of persons wanting to access it. It is always possible that a lock box could be broken into or opened by excessive force, or accessed by other fraudulent means. For this reason, you always have the final decision regarding the use of a Lock Box.
